SONG: SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE
ARTIST: JAMIE WEBSTER
TAB BY: DON CZARSKI
EMAIL:
NOTE: This was a request for this to be done in standard tuning. Jamie Webster
does NOT play this in standard tuning. If you want to play it exactly
like he does then you would have to detune your guitar and place a capo
on the 3rd fret and use the tab I have WITHOUT A CAPO.
The D* chord (B* in the tab wih a capo) is really a walk down bass run
from the 3rd fret on the low E string to the 2nd fret but I didn't know
how else to indicate that on here. Hope this is not confusing to you.
SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE
JAMIE WEBSTER
CAPO: NONE
INTRO:
C D G D* Em Em C D G G C
CHORUS:
C D G
How can you tell me that this is where it's at
Em C
When all the clowns are calling the shots
D G
How can you sell me that this is the dream
Em C
When all the dreamers are left out to rot
D G D* Em Em
Lining of pockets and no care for how we live
C D
Things can't stay the same
G G
Something's gotta give
VERSE:
G
There's crisis with the heads of the table
Em Em
And we can't seem to solve them
C
Is it for welfare of all
D Dsus4 D
Or is it just for personal gain
G
And all the pieces at chess
Em Em
And the middle bear the weight of the problem
C D G G
Divided opinions on who should go and who should remain
VERSE:
G Em Em
And then across the pond he's a freak and he's loaded with silver
C D Dsus4 D
Stood on an empire of gold performing his own puppet show
G Em Em
And while there's mongrels they bark for the promises he's failed to deliver
C D G G C
The ones who oppose him stand bewildered and nowhere to go
CHORUS:
C D G
How can you tell me that this is where it's at
Em C
When all the clowns are calling the shots
D G
How can you sell me that this is the dream
Em C
When all the dreamers are left out to rot
D G D* Em Em
Lining of pockets and no care for how we live
C D
Things can't stay the same
G G D* Em
Something's gotta give
BREAK:
Em C
Sick and tired of the bad news story
G D
Sick and tired of the crooked tories
Em C D D
Is there anyone out there without the jar
Em C
And for the many that have raised the issue
G D
Or be disposed of like a scattered tissue
Em C D D C
Don't you think maybe this time it's gone too far-ar
CHORUS:
